2019 Breeders' Cup Betting

Breeders Cup Betting

The Sport of Kings is often only spoken about a few times per year in mainstream sports betting, but the Breeders' Cup is the only time that horses not running in the Triple Crown races get any real notoriety whatsoever. This collection of races dates back to 1984 and is also known as the "world championships" of horse racing.

The Breeders' Cup is held at a different track every year, generally in the United States. The 2019 Breeders’ Cup will take place at Santa Anita Park in Arcadia, CA. Don’t miss any of the races on Friday, November 1 and Saturday, November 2. NBCN will have all of the coverage of the races on Friday and most of the races on Saturday, but the Breeders' Cup Classic will be shown live on NBC. Code of Honor and McKinzie are expected to be the two top choices to win Saturday’s Breeders’ Cup Classic.

The Breeders' Cup continues to grow and add races to its repertoire on an annual basis. This event was once just four races, and it has grown as high as 14 over two full days of racing in any given year. The 2019 Breeders’ Cup will feature 14 races, five of which are held on Friday, and the remaining nine of which will encompass the best day of racing of the year on Saturday.

What makes the Breeders' Cup so unique is the fact that horses come from all over the world to run in these races. Though not all of the races involve qualifiers from overseas, there are races which can be run in various countries throughout the world which grant winners automatic access into the Breeders' Cup. These are known as the "Win and You're In" races, and several dozen are held each year in the United States as well across the various disciplines of the Breeders' Cup.

Just earning one's way into any of the Breeders' Cup races is quite the challenge. Winning is something else entirely. Horses are very rarely odds-on favorites at the Breeders' Cup in any of the races, and even if there are ponies who are expected to dominate, that rarely is the case. Remember that, with the exception of the juvenile races, the rest are open to racers of all ages, and the boys races typically feature some of the best fillies and mares in the world as well.
